The 26th edition of the Central American Mathematics Olympiad, to be held in Honduras from October 9th to 14th, will feature two students from this province: Heidy de la Caridad Rodríguez Fuentes and Liss Marian Estevez Suárez, both 11th-grade students at the Máximo Gómez Báez Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE, for its acronym in Spanish).

The University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz graduated a total of 1,879 new professionals at its main graduation ceremony. Of these, 441 are from the daytime course, 1,368 from the face-to-face course, nine from distance education and, for the first time, 72 Higher Technical degrees in the short-cycle modality.

 As part of the activities for the 64th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in the province, the careers of several women were recognized in the Nicolás Guillén protocol room of the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.

The new generations that make up the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Camagüey, a scientific institution founded by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro on July 25th, 1989, are talking about projects and future aspirations.


 The event surprised at its time and the story spread so much that almost immediately the legend took shape to the point that today it is difficult for many to distinguish where one began and the other ended. Perhaps, however, during these days at the beginning of the month of May, the fluttering of the "Aura Blanca" (white vulture) will raise the serene flight of the Creole vulture that for almost two centuries has remained among us as a heritage of all generations in the memory of Puerto Principe.


The province stands out in its dedication to environmental sustainability, protecting its biological diversity through the restoration and enrichment of its forest heritage.
