CAMAGÜEY.- The 48th edition of the National Seminar of Martí's Studies, to be held on the 14th and 15th by the Martí's Youth Movement (MJM) of this province, with the participation of 82 delegates from all over the country, will be one of the activities that will occupy the youth of Camagüey during the current month.
According to the president of the MJM Dania Díaz Socarrás, “we will begin the program with a tree planting at the headquarters of the faculty of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, which will be the main headquarters of the theoretical sessions. There we will share with the other movements of the UJC, and starting at 10:30 a.m., the inaugural conference will be given by the historian and scholar of the work of our National Hero, José Martí, Francisca López Civeira.”
She explained that the work will also be carried out in commissions, grouped according to the teachings, in the categories of José Martí Pioneers, the one of the Feem, the Feu, the one made up of young workers, the one related to pedagogical experiences, and the commissions of the arts.
Díaz Socarrás pointed out that “the presentations of the seminar, which will be held under the name, Martí in the current time of Cuba, will deal with the values promoted by the Martian ethics such as Latin Americanism, anti-imperialism, how the project of Martí's Forests, Gardens and Orchards, promoted by the MJM, has been done in the country, and other topics related to the authors' jobs.”
During the two days, various projects will be presented, such as “With Everything for the Neighborhood,” in the Jayamá neighborhood; “For a Smile,” at the Luis Casas Romero art school; “A Hero Lives Here,” in the Julio Antonio Mella neighborhood, to recognize the work of a Martí activist; “Cuba in my backpack,” at the Enrique José Varona elementary school; and the dialogue of generations that will take place at the Eide Cerro Pelado.
The José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors will also be celebrating its 20th anniversary, where “initiatives have been planned, such as “Get closer,” at the Ramiro Guerra school of conduct; the 50th anniversary of the Cultural Guerrilla, which will be held on the 12th in the Nuevitas and Santa Cruz municipalities, and the following day in Florida,” said the president of the BJM, Meisel Núñez Hernández.
The leader pointed out that the municipal events will take place on the 15th, while on the 16th the activity Giving Away Fantasies will take place at the Pediatric Hospital, on the 18th the instructors who will participate in the provincial celebration will be received, on the 19th, at Agramonte Park and at 11:00 a.m., in the Nicolás Guillén Protocol Room of the Plaza de la Revolución, the 20th Anniversary Seal will be awarded to five art instructors with outstanding careers, a director of a cultural center that has supported the movement in its two decades, a sociocultural project and the brigade with the most results in the province. In addition, three distinctions will be conferred: Rafael María de Mendive and Por la Vergüenza de Agramonte.
Camagüey has 468 art instructors, 340 in education and 128 in culture, with a brigade in each municipality and they are leaders of community and sociocultural projects, such as La Semilla, in Santa Cruz, local development, in Florida, Pequeño Son, in Camagüey, Ecos del Tínima, which reach localities in transformation, neighborhoods, grandparents' homes and schools. They also have results at a national level in experience workshops, the Escaramujo contest, and several of its members carry out internationalist missions in countries such as Equatorial Guinea and Venezuela.
