VERTIENTES, CAMAGÜEY. - Thanks to the solidarity that fortunately also emerges in difficult times, farmers from the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Abel Santamaría recently delivered food modules made up of some of their productions to patients with oncological pathologies.

Mercedes, Antonio, Jorge, Ana, Genly ..., who today are treated at the cancer hospital in Camagüey, received bananas, pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, beans and tomato sauce in their homes in the Battle of Las Guásimas community, according to the head of the economic - social group of the Defense Zone no. 4 of the Popular Council (CP) Battle, Kirenia Jiménez León.

Jiménez León, who is also the president of that CP, said that the donation was coordinated between the aforementioned Defense Zone and the "Abel Santamaría" - located in the town of Concordia, one kilometer from the Battle of Las Guásimas - and stated the intention of making similar deliveries to bedridden people, which number 20 in this territory of the southern half of Camagüey.

The Basic Unit for Cooperative Production Julio Sanguily (Concordia), the CCS Noel Fernández (Veracruz) and the Rancho de Flora y Fauna (Sandiego) will contribute to this effort; all belonging to the CP Batalla, because in the cultivable areas of those places of the Camagüey geography the Martí's certainty can be demonstrated that: "If man serves, the earth serves."
