HAVANA.- (ACN) The six Cuban judokas who will participate in the tour of Europe will start their competitive action in Belgium, in the Vise Open, for men, and Arlon, for women, led by the new coaches Julio Alderete (m) and Felix Portuondo (w).
Rafael Manso, president of the Cuban Judo Federation, told ACN that the group will depart Saturday 28 to France, to then continue to Belgium, home of the aforementioned tournaments on February 4th and 5th.
The men´s squad is made up by Magdiel Estrada (73 kilograms), Jose Armenteros (100) and Alex García (+100), while the women´s team includes Vanessa Godínez (48), Aliuska Ojeda (57) and Kaliema Antomachin (78).
The tour also includes the Grand Slam of Paris, France, on February 11 and 12, and the Grand Prix of Dusseldorf, Germany, on the 24th and 26th of that month.
Manso added that the international program of 2017 includes the Pan American Championship (m and w), in April, with seat to be defined, and the World Championship in Budapest, Hungary, in August.
He also noted that they decided to change the national championship (m and w) for April, and ratified Guantánamo as venue.
