CAMAGÜEY.- Midfielder York González was not included in the official list of 23 players summoned to the Cuban soccer team for the double date of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying rounds for Qatar 2022.

York González from Camagüey is one of the great absences in the team that will face Guatemala and Curaçao on March 24 and 28 respectively.

With the cast already registered with FIFA, by technical decision it is not found who is one of the revelations of Cuban football, so he will have to do more to recover the ground lost before this setback. The native of Minas had been showing a spectacular projection, even burning stages, so the unexpected exclusion of him surprises all lovers of the most universal sport in our country.

"I'm calm, they are decisions that are made, I have to wait for the next opportunity," York confesses to Adelante Digital after hearing the news.

As reported by Pablo Elier Sánchez, technical director of the team, defenders Darío Ramos and Leandro Pérez are also left out of the payroll, who, along with York, will continue training with the group in Havana and could join the team if an unforeseen last minute event occurs with the chosen 23.

If all goes as expected, the National Team will travel to Guatemalan lands on the afternoon of March 21, while the professional league players will arrive on the same day but in the morning.
