CAMAGÜEY. - More than 7 000 workpeople of the educational sector in the province work out of house, in spite of the closing of the schools. Although today they do not fulfill the same function that inside the classrooms, it does not change this principle that characterizes them of devoting themselves to others.

Distributed in four educational institutions that work as isolation centers, close to 150 look over the health of the suspects of the new coronavirus. In the pedagogic school Nicolás Guillén, for example, they deal with the logistic insurances, with the cleanliness of the exterior areas and of the feeding.

This way it is confirmed by the cook Rogelio Izada Polanco, who for more than 20 years has seasoned the teaching days. To get up before 5:00 a.m., to come to the kitchen and to prepare breakfasts, lunches and meals until 10:00 p.m., he says, it is not a problem.

“Nobody can complain about being useful. My sacrifice serves for the well-being of many. From April 3rd, I stopped being an Education worker to turn, as I say, in a Health worker. If the doctors take charge of the most dangerous part, I take care of the feeding, which is also very important. Yes, to be in an isolation place means certain risk, but it is necessary to be where is needed”.

Rogelio is accompanied every day, between storekeepers, turbine’s operators, assistants and managers, by more than 50 employees of the sector. All, tells Clay Pérez Jiménez, provincial assistant director of Education, received training and the necessary means for their care.

And although for national decision most of the teachers remain in their hearths preparing themselves, their commitment sense does not leave that they neglect what they consider to be theirs. Every day, in shifts of six hours, they guard the areas not compromised with the SARS CoV 2.

“Those of the sector, explains Elier Rodríguez Pérez, the director of the isolation center, are present in vital areas here. Perhaps some of them do not notice their presence because they do not move for the most vulnerable areas; nevertheless, the local functioning depends to a great extent on their efforts, often anonymous”.

 OF HEARTHS AND KINDERGARTENS

93 persons in charge of four children's hearths without familiar protection in the territory and the personnel in charge of 24 kindergartens that remain opened also live through different dates. Even Vivian López Chávez, the director of the "Hearth" located in La Zambrana, has not stopped to show patience and love. This "mom" has had, perhaps as no other, to invent games, to please desires and even to serve as umpire sometimes.

“Our children go through the adolescence and sometimes it is difficult to us to keep them focused in the same task. Fortunately, I have a very good team next to me. The educational assistants, the nurse, the cooks … leave at home their blood families and come here to protect their other 'children', who know it and are grateful for it”, she mentioned.

She also told, that to find the assistant Dunia under a mango tree teaching or playing with the boys is not a coronavirus thing, but now she has company. After closing the doors of their classrooms, the teachers Carmen and Martha, of the special school Nguyen Van Troi, they joined to those of the house La Zambrana. Others have had to change towards different positions: "Any place serves to share love”, pronounces herself for them the mother - pedagogue.

And of sharing love they know also the educators of the “Constructor Amigo” kindergarten, in the neighborhood Julio Antonio Mella. They had to receive the children of “Sol Luminoso“ and “Manuel Zabalo“ after there was taken the decision to unify institutions.

“Now only we have the two-year-old girl Helen. At her disposal there are the kindergarten and our efforts. Nothing pays the satisfaction that we give to a mother of knowing that her girl is well cared when for her labor load they cannot remain together at home. It is not important that it is one, two or the 180 that normally coexist in this place. While they need us, here they will find us”, assures the educator Yuleisy Lago Villa.

Far from the chalk and the draft, far from most of their pupils, the teachers keep on devoting themselves. In their houses they modify spaces for the self-study and to see the TV-classes. In the schools they do guards to take care of the resources. Since it is already a custom, again the teachers answer, again it is possible to trust them.
