CAMAGÜEY.- This August 13, 2019, Fidel Castro Ruz, the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, with a universal projection for his humanitarian and internationalist thinking and his beautiful and imperishable work at the head of Cuba, would turn 93.
When one speaks of a personality like Fidel, it is impossible to review everything that he forged and created throughout his existence, the richness of his ideas about that in the face of so many adversities and calamities that today shake the universe, a better world was possible.
From his childhood and adolescence he showed his feelings of rebellion in the face of injustices, a quality that led him to take the most risky actions in order to combat the evils not only of Cuba, but also of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean and of humanity .
If I say that he was one of the most prominent statesmen of the mid-twentieth century and what he lived in the 21st, I am not mistaken or exaggerated, since it is not only a personal appreciation, but I am convinced that in addition to our people and many others will share it.
His thinking and action were able to make Cuba one of the most prosperous and fair societies in the region and in many parts of the world, and the defense of sovereignty, independence, freedom and intransigence in the preservation of ethical and revolutionaries principles have placed this small Island in a significant place in the international concert of nations.
We Cubans do not hide to be proud of what we have done on the economic and social level in these 60 years, conquests in which there is not a single one in which Fidel's mark is not, since the overthrow in front of the Rebel Army of the pro-imperialist dictatorship of the tyrant Fulgencio Batista, who oppressed us for years, until achieving a lasting and sustainable socialist nation, against which all the genocidal attacks of the successive American governments have crashed since the triumph of the Revolution on the January, 1st 1959.
Seeing him walking and striding, listening to everything in detail, reflecting, arguing, knowing that he never left, that he is always there, as the protagonist or companion, extremely human, sensitive and solicitous to all pain or pain of others, makes us always feel with us to Fidel, despite his physical departure a bitter day, three years ago.
From his inexhaustible ideology and everlasting example we drink the Cubans every day, sap that as he taught us, we share with other peoples without asking for anything in return, while his lucid intelligence, intransigence, and his ability to fight, are the flags that today they carry on the continuing generations of his masterful work and those who had the joy of being his unconditional follower.
In what many consider his political testament, Fidel Castro outlined the concept of Revolution in which he tells us that “Revolution is a sense of the historical moment; to change everything that has to be changed, is full equality and freedom, is to be treated and treat others as human beings ... "and finally confirms that" Revolution is unity, independence, is fighting for our dreams of justice for Cuba and for the world, which is the basis of our patriotism, our socialism and our internationalism. ”
