At 12:08 pm today, a Boeing 737-200, leased by Cubana de Aviación, with a contracted foreign crew and 104 passengers aboard, traveling from Havana to Holguín on flight DMJ 0972, fell to the ground as it was taking off, in an area between José Martí International Airport and the town of Santiago de Las Vegas. Search and rescue teams are at the site. More information will be forthcoming on the unfortunate accident.

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca said on Friday in Havana that the Caribbean island is committed and will support the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).


The importance of South-South cooperation for the social and economic development of the nations was highlighted on Wednesday in Havana during the debates of the 37th period of sessions of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.


UN Secretary General thanks Cuba for its Hospitality

The Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres expressed gratitude on Tuesday in Havana for the hospitality and warm welcome he received in Cuba during his official visit to the country.
