Dionys Perez, information and analysis director of Azcuba and Perez Liobel, institutional communicator of the company said to Prensa Latina that the rains of November and December have delayed the startup of many refineries and had to reschedule.
It is expected that by the end of this month nearly 30 factories will start processing sugar cane, while the remaining will begin in January. Only two will start in February.
According to both experts, the most important thing is that the refineries must be truly ready, after making quality repairs throughout the agricultural and industrial machinery, in order to maximize their potential.
The president of Azcuba, Orlando Celso Garcia, said during the debates in the permanent working commissions of the National Assembly of People's Power prior to the 6th regular session of the 8th Legislature, that Azcuba has more equipment to ensure efficiency in the harvest and the supply of agricultural inputs.
In the previous season the main problem was the insufficient use of productive capacities precisely due to non-compliance on cutting plans and the daily delivery of cane.
In the 2015/16 harvest we emphasize on strengthening the sugar cane harvest with the necessary means, in order to ensure high and stable grinding.
The sugar production has grown over the last five years and we must work to maintain this tendency, despite the complex conditions due to unstable weather and the influence of the weather phenomenon El Niño.
