HAVANA.- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro, met on Tuesday morning with the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro who was visiting our country.

Raúl later saw him off at the José Martí international airport and forward him a greeting from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who at the time was heading a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

This visit by the Bolivarian leader coincided with the 18th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on Cuba-Venezuela Cooperation, founded by commanders Fidel Castro Ruz and Hugo Chávez Frías, which gave a boost four years later to the birth of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA).
