The third edition of the Convergence Workshop “Standing up against climate change”, summoned by the Cuban Association of Technicians and Forest Agriculturists (Actaf, Spanish acronym), was celebrated as a fundamental space for the design of strategies for the protection of the Environment and the mitigation of climate change.


The infestation of the areas destined for crops and livestock with marabú is an undeniable reality in Cuba; in Camagüey alone, 192 842.57 hectares, approximately 17 per cent of the agricultural surface in the territory, are occupied by this invading plant. However, little is known about the effects of the Dichrostachys cinerea (scientific name) in the soil fertility and quality and its use in making food for animals.


The first ten Camagüeyans that were working in the Republic of Ecuador as part of the health agreement between the governments in that country and Cuba, returned this Tuesday to the province, after their arrival to the Island through the airports in Santiago de Cuba and Havana.
