SANTA CRUZ DEL SUR, CAMAGÜEY.- The official visit that the president of the Council of State and of Ministers, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez , leads from this Wednesday in the province of Camagüey, began with a tour around the Industrial Fishing Company (Episur), in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur.

At the end of 2018, this entity achieved their largest production with 1670 tons of seafood, six times in a row which beats its historic record. This is a better contribution to export and to the internal hard currency market, Radio Santa Cruz website reported on December.

Currently there, workers from the pre offspring area toil for the reception of shrimp post-larvae for 10 or 15 days in this month, to acclimatize them and to improve their weight, according to a report from the mentioned site a week ago.

Nowadays, 16 ponds are exploited and have the opportunity to increase those reservoirs with investments that are carried out in the entity, which seeks to triple the current production in the future.

In order to get 2000 tons of shrimp this year and to increase exports, this group from Episur pays constant attention to the larvae from the intensive pre offspring area.
