Rosa Maria Rodriguez Armengol and Yanni García del Risco will represent the prestigious Cuban company at a charity gala for the fight against the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), where they will alternate with the Salzburg Ballet and soloists from other countries.

The Stuttgart Ballett, the Hagen Ballet and the Bayrisches Staatsballett, all of them from Germany, the Dutch National Ballet, of Holland, and the Ballett Graz, of Austria, are the other companies participating in the festival, which the Ballet of Camagüey will attend invited by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Camaquito.

Peregrinos is a piece of neoclassical style by choreographer Gonzalo Galguera, who for more than two decades has been living and working in Germany, while Le Corsaire is a classic premiered at the Paris Opera in 1856, choreographed by Joseph Mazilier.

Mark Kuster, representative of Camaquito in the province of Camagüey, the headquarters of that NGO in Cuba, informed ACN that, in addition to the gala, the presence of BC dancers in Austria for a week will include exchanges with the Salzburg Company.

It is anticipated that the director of that troupe, Peter Breuer, will visit Camaguey in late 2016 to stage a ballet with BC, explained Kuster, adding that in Salzburg an exhibition of photographs by artist Anton Stefan on the iconic ballet company will be opened.

That exhibition will also be on display in Camaguey halfway through the year.

Founded in 1967, BC has a high national and international reputation for the excellence of its repertoire and the high quality and mastery of its dancers and choreographers.
