As an incentive this year, the finalist works will constitute a volume that will be published as part of the Portíco Collection in conjunction with the Ácana publishing house. The event will conclude in the evening with a concert by troubadour Rey Montalvo at the Victoria Bar, which will also serve as the venue for launching the call for submissions for the next edition of the Colloquium in 2026.
“For UPEC in Camagüey the Colloquium of Cultural Journalism is an opportunity for improvement and exchange among colleagues from all over the country, this time we have the peculiarity that we will invite young people who are doing their military service, college students and students of journalism career to access the main spaces and exchange to strengthen their training as future journalists. The colloquium is not only a space for exchange among professionals, but also serves for the new generations that are formed from the classroom,” added Juan Mendoza, president of UPEC in Camagüey.
