CAMAGÜEY.- The Provincial Directorate of Culture and the Provincial Council of Performing Arts (CPAE) in Camagüey postpone the Ciudad Teatral celebrations that they had announced here from April 20 to 23 with five shows for the family.

"We are witnesses of the innumerable efforts of the provinces committed to transfer their groups to Camagüey, whose effort has not been fruitful for objective and compelling reasons", reported Kenny Ortigas Guerrero, president of the CPAE.

The note points out "the complex situation that occurs in the country with energy carriers" for the decision to reschedule the segment that had coincided with the week of school recess.

"If stability is achieved within the situation, the day would be maintained in its May chapter and the one corresponding to this month of April would be transferred to June," the statement said.

Ciudad Teatral in April would receive the groups Teatro de las Estaciones (Matanzas), Teatro Tuyo (Las Tunas) and Teatro Andante (Granma); as well as René Fernández, Rubén Darío Salazar and Zenén Calero, National Theater Awards, among other specialists on the scene.

This way of celebration was a solution that allowed bringing to the city most of the shows selected as the central sample of the Camagüey’s National Theater Festival, which due to the complex situation of the country was not carried out in November 2022 as expected.
