CAMAGÜEY.- The José Martí Cultural Society (SCJM), subsidiary in Camagüey, projects activities for the coming summer phase. They will combine fun with the implementation of competitions and activities designed to expand participants’ knowledge.
“The timetable shall open on July 1st, in fellowship with the Historians Union in Cuba (Unhic), with the 20th Provincial Heritage Historic Sugar Event, to be developed in the Azcuba headquarters. There will be works in the categories of children, youth, cultural professionals, workers and other specialists”, the SCJM’s executive secretary of this province, Beatriz Henry Milanés said to Adelante Digital.
For the following day, 3:00 p.m., the Casa de la Memoria will itself become the ideal spot for childhood projects linked to the institution dedicated to José Martí to do their work. There the art of children from Fantasibarro, the Colibrí Project, La Andariega will be appreciated and they will also take time for poetry recitation and song interpretation.
On second Saturdays from holiday months, other attractions will get in from areas given over to the promotion and presentation of books and magazines. This initiative’s main aims are the dissemination of publications related to José Martí’s life and work, national, Latin American and universal culture. Through Meeting with History, on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at 4:30 p.m., children can dwell on anecdotes and experiences of war veterans on the fight for the revolutionary wars.
“During these summer months also the second edition of summer courses in Methodology of Research, Workshops on Governance focusing on Internet and on SCRUM Methodology in a free environment shall be performed, from July 9th. Those who want to integrate some of them can go to Casa de la Memoria, located on Pobres, on the corner of Triana, in order to carry out their registration, preferably from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 m.”, said Henry Milanés.
The fourth Saturdays of July and August will be filled by the initiative With the Simple Verses in communities and suburbs, to be held from 10:00 a.m. In addition to find out more about José Martí’s collection of poems, the locals from the selected locations will enjoy the music and dancing offered by the various artistic talents.
For the purpose of commemorating the 50th anniversary of Antón Makarenko Pedagogic Institute, on August 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., la Casa de la Memoria will unite the different generations of teachers trained in that center. Exchange between teachers, anecdotes and experiences left in the souls of the graduates will form one of the topics dealt with by this proposal, which undoubtedly will bring different routes for the upcoming holidays.
