The last meeting of the Council of Ministers of the year 2019 was held Tuesday at the Palace of the Revolution, headed by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, and led by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.

The Council of State, at the proposal of its, agreed to promote to the position of vice-president of the Council of Ministers Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Bachelor of Economics, who served since 2008 as First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Ciego de Ávila and from September 2012 in Camagüey.

The Council of Ministers approved a set of measures to boost the economy, including an increase in salaries in the budgeted sector and also pensions, which will benefit more than 2.75 million people.

Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas, reported to the Council of Ministers that during the first six month of 2017, economy has performed as expected.
