Nine awards from the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) received the University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte in recognition of its scientific work during 2020. Even with a pandemic, the center's teachers sought ways not to stop the investigations and contribute to the development of the various spheres of society.

Several of the hotel facilities of the Islazul Chain, located in this city, received recognition from the Workers' Central of Cuba by virtue of the work carried out during these months of confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
