CAMAGÜEY.- The Enterprise of Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM) set in motion in this city its new studio, named Caonao, for the validation of technology looking at the official opening in February 2020.

The first trial was an arrangement by Adalberto Álvarez for the opening credits of the musical show Zafra musical, among the most popular ones in Radio Cadena Agramonte, the provincial broadcaster in Camagüey. It took place with Manolito Simonet, who donated the recording equipment and has been one of the promoters of this unique facility in Cuba with rooms for the training of students and professionals, and service for foreign tourists interested in listening to live popular and traditional music.

At the entrance of Caonao, at 19 Goyo Benítez Street, Manolito Simonet thanked the authorities of the territory and specially Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, current vice president of the Council of Ministers, who was the highest political executive in the project at the time that the project was developed.

Technicians and engineers from other studios of EGREM offered the indispensable knowledge to accomplish a recording system, that implicates continuous processes and requires training, something already foreseen by the recorder Yurwhys Shuman Deler. Since no musical producer lives in Camagüey, Caonao studio will have Wilmer Ferrán, leader of the music group Rumbatá, and Norberto Puente, director of the orchestra Maravilla de Florida as counselors.

“It is a great satisfaction to start managing the commercialization, diffusion, the heritage of our music and to have the inauguration with everything in motion and with surprising proposals in the 506 anniversary of the foundation of the current Camagüey”, said Mario Escalona, director of the EGREM, to Adelante Digital.
