CAMAGÜEY.- Over 70 hectares covered by vegetation of more than eight thousand specimens, of which 1,200 species are exotic in our country, the Camagüey's Botanical Park opens its doors from next Saturday, July 14th to the 2024 Summer Program.
Lic. Jorge Aguilar Pérez, Camagüey's Botanical specialist, announced in a press conference held at the headquarters of the Union of Journalists of Cuba that among the main attractions are excursions from Tuesday to Sunday, as well as horseback riding in the area of said forest.
Special offer is the local tourism offer, which in a single account includes transportation, lunch, use of the children's pool, guide service, horseback riding and tour for the facilities, whose reservations can be made at the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets, on La Libertad Avenue.
Regardless of this program, the public can have access, also from Tuesday to Sunday, paying the entrance fee as well as payment to enjoy the different services provided, among these horses, swimming pool and gastronomy. Significant must be, said Aguilar, the air flight simulation room for children and young people, who will be able to pilot a cabin model of airplane to handle it in front of virtual flight simulator screens, which they will handle doing simulated maneuvers. This technique is used for the first time in Camagüey.
An immediate space is dedicated to aeromodelling with displays of ships that the members of the Cuban Aero-modeling Club will take there. On July 27th and 28th, the Expo Fair will take place dedicated to promoting the love of gardens and green spaces, which is why growers of ornamental plants have been called of the city so that they can exhibit their specimens, taking advantage of the opportunity to create the Club of Gardeners Associated with the Botanical Garden and certify a business meeting between the Botanical Garden and Geo&Vida, a private entity specialized in gardening and other institutions in the field.
There was also extensive information about the existence of the theme directed to history, it is the Martiana Route, a path represented by a collection of species that Martí mentions in his diary.
News about the butterfly farm project revealed that this task with a solid scientific basis could be completed during the current summer, with the cooperation of the United Nations Development Fund, after the conclusion of the butterfly flight room and the shade house for growing plants linked to these winged jewels.
Summer closes at the end of August with the awards program for the best gardening stand installed during the Fair, the best collection of ornamental plants and the best specimen.
