HAVANA.- Another brigade of the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics will depart today for Cape Verde to face COVID-19.
The group of 20 collaborators is made up of epidemiologists and nurses from eight provinces and with more than 10 years of work, including 11 with internationalist experiences.
José Antonio La O, head of the brigade, emphasized the confidence that the task will be accomplished as an example of the humanist nature of socialism.
They will join the 79 Cuban health workers already in Cape Verde, an African archipelago where the Cuban collaboration has cared for about 1.5 million patients.
This is the 22nd Cuban brigade of the Henry Reeve contingent that is providing services to help countries to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
Cape Verdean authorities have reported 68 positive cases of this coronavirus, which has caused more than 178,000 deaths worldwide.
