Santiago Lajes, rector of the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte, indicated that although the indexes will be known in June, when it should conclude the second call of tests and the process of claim of notes, the positive today qualifications forseen an increase of the registration.
For the first time in the last years, added Lajes, we foresee a light increase in the study of pedagogic careers, although it will keep on being lower than the teachers' demand in the territory, therefore it is necessary to strengthen moreover the work of vocational orientation from the elementary educations.
With regard to the partial evaluations per subject, more than 63 % of the examined ones approved those of Mathematics and History of Cuba, number superior to previous stages, and in Spanish, although it registered 86 %, it was below in four points compared with the previous school period.
As Santiago Lajes reviewed, the results not only were higher in quantity, but also in the quality of the content received by the pupils of preuniversity schools, which demonstrates a major preparation.
Since last September more than 1 500 pupils of 12th grade in the Camagüey province, received intensive courses in the Municipal University Centers and in the central head office Ignacio Agramonte, with a view to the revenue tests to the higher education, which also contributed to a better process.
