CAMAGÜEY.-"We are confident that the incorporation of our students to the classrooms, on September 4th, will be a new festival of the town", said the provincial director of Education, in this territory, Loreley Suárez Capdevila, at a press conference with the officials of that sphere in Camagüey, who guaranteed that the conditions are ready to start the 2023-2024 academic year.

The head of the technical material assurance department in the region, Félix Damián Carnesolta Pérez, said that “the municipalities already have notebooks and pencils under the same adjusted standard with which we have worked in recent years. There is no difficulty for their presence in schools the first day of classes”. He specified that 250 sheets and pens are currently being distributed to teachers.

The manager highlighted that the sale of school uniforms, of the different teachings, are sold in 106 stores in the demarcation, according to the program provided by the Universal Industry and the trade network, so that the family can acquire it quickly. He added that there are no difficulties to guarantee food in day care centers, special schools and homes for children without family protection, and it is expected that the school snack process will amount to 16,515 diners, including students and teachers.

 

 

 

Regarding transportation, Carnesolta Pérez explained that due to vehicle limitations, “the entry of boarding students was planned as of September 1st. That date would correspond to the IPVCE Máximo Gómez Báez, on Saturday it would be the turn of the Nicolás Guillén Batista Pedagogical School, on Sunday to the provincial polytechnic centers, and on Monday, the internal institutions of the municipalities.

He clarified that due to technical availability, the municipalities of Sibanicú, Vertientes, Sierra de Cubitas and Santa Cruz will arrive at the IPVC centers and the Pedagogical School at 1:00 pm, and that the routes of the Special Schools will be restored, especially , in the province of Camagüey, from the 4th.

In the case of primary education, the head of that department in the region, Gipsy Santiago Atanay, declared that this level "will begin with 544 groups, and an enrollment of 7,256 students, served by 572 teachers." She noted that "the family does not have to worry about buying the notebook for the readiness stage, Ya Aprendo, because the children will have a lined and a squared notebook, as alternatives to organize their studies."

During that space, the head of the basic secondary department in the area, Raisa Duarte Cruz, highlighted the favorable behavior of the continuity of studies in ninth grade graduates, translated to 7,218, who obtained a specialty for 100% of places . It also meant 150% overcompliance in pedagogical careers, figures that will contribute to improving teaching coverage in the territory.

It was also known about the incorporation of the specialty of Spanish, with 25 students, in " Nicolás Guillén" school, to reinforce this subject in the educational system, and the secondary technical education, lasting three years, will be added four months with the purpose of achieving a higher quality of graduates in their labor and pre-professional practices”, according to Elier Rodríguez Pérez, General Provincial Deputy Director.

Miguel Zayas Feteira, head of pre-university education, explained how the priority “is the preparation and attention to twelfth grade for higher level exams. In the concluded course, 2,175 students graduated, 450 of them have awarded their direct careers in universities, in Camagüey and in the country. The entrance tests will be held from October 3rd to 12th: on the 3rd, Mathematics, on the 6th, Spanish and on 12th, History.

The general director of the sphere, in this town, praised the effectiveness of the solutions to the demand for teachers, and in the constructive advances in the primary school, Antonio Maceo, from the Céspedes municipality, from the Alfredo Álvarez Mola polytechnic, from Sibanicú, and from the Abel Santamaría secondary school, from Esmeralda, which will host the provincial act for the start of the course, on September 4th, due to the results of that municipality in the previous school period.
