CAMAGÜEY.- Less than an hour of travel will cover national and international tourism from Esmeralda beach, in Cayo Cruz, to the city of Camagüey, on a route promoted by the Iberostar hotel company. Its facilities are close to the Cuban coast to show the world how much beauty this city has, and of course enjoy its attractions.

The above was pointed out by Javier Leal Estévanez, Director of Viajes Cuba, at the airline company Word 2 fl and at the time of inaugurating, in spaces of the Railway Museum, its office for the promotion and sale of tickets, through the tourism travel agency San Cristobal. The enclave now adds to the heritage value of this city.

The airline was the first of its kind to be authorized by the Chamber of Commerce to start its activities in Cuba in 2021, with a first branch established in our country in September. That one took off from Havana with three weekly flights: Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, with capacity for 434 passengers. There are prospects of increasing to five weekly flights for next year, which will undoubtedly boost tourism.

The company, after opening its office, will facilitate travel, hand in hand with San Cristóbal, with the possibility of packaging Camagüey products that may be present at international fairs with this airline and its ground services. They also intend to promote flights to Havana and soon open a route to Santiago de Cuba.

The full support for the program by the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey has made this step forward possible to multiply initiatives in the promotion of the province, and with it the network of Offices of the Historian and Conservator of our cities.

During the brief ceremony, which was attended by authorities of the Party and the Government in the province, as well as representatives of tourist entities, the member of the Central Committee and first secretary in the province, Federico Hernández Hernández, congratulated the Camagüey initiative and told Adelante that this excellent idea represents a promising future for the development aspirations of the province in which everyone participates.
