CAMAGÜEY.- During the exposition of the productive scientific pole of the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz were updated the current status of the projects, results and actions that were developed by the institution in terms of Food Sovereignty, Computerization of society, energy and industrial efficiency, as well as the sustainable development of tourism, local development and social sciences.

The meeting highlighted the work towards the improvement of shrimp farming, as well as the main details on the planting of improved grass in Camagüey municipalities to increase the production of milk and meat, as well as the development of accessible and inclusive applications for the preservation of the territory's railway heritage.

Faculties such as Electromechanics and Economics are immersed in the production of LED lamps with an improved circuit that is resistant to electric shocks, as a way to substitute imports. On the other hand, the Applied Sciences presented a compendium of projects related to the industry, geographical, biological and environmental sciences. The area of ​​Social Sciences also carries out an impact task in various studies focused on the empowerment of women and actions in vulnerable neighborhoods.

The Department of Tourism announced its works in different facilities for the development of an inclusive tourism for the growth of the national economy. Riselda Guzmán Méndez, dean of the Faculty of Construction, showed the program that improve housing construction. Computing and Exact Sciences presented its project for the computarization of the society and the application of new artificial intelligence techniques in other fields.

The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Camagüey, Ariel Santana Santiesteban, that was present at the meeting confirmed the progress in the project that improve the potential for milk production through the introduction of an animal health management program.

The leader was interested in the creation of the International Institute for Research in Artificial Intelligence with the Hebei University of International Studies, in China.

To conclude the work program, the participants visited the university organic farm, based on the principles of "zero chemicals" and "no empty flowerbeds", this land is designed for the institution's self-sufficiency.
