CAMAGÜEY. At the close of this Wednesday 164,280 people, which represents 70 % of the universe to be vaccinated, in the city of Camagüey had already received the first dose of the vaccine candidate Abdala. As part of the health intervention by risk groups and territories, it is intended to reach, only in the main municipality, a total of 233,285 people from Camagüey.

As explained by Dr. Sonia María González Vega, head of Primary Health Care in the province and Principal Investigator of the Health Intervention in the territory, the application of the first dose should conclude on Saturday with the vaccination of the prostrate and bedridden to those who Abdala Móvil will arrive in their homes, to which the vaccine will be applied and then the surveillance to be carried out at the same address.

The doctor insisted on the need for everyone to be immunized unless they have a permanent exclusion criterion. “Vaccination is a race against the disease, and we have to win it ourselves, so for those people who remain unvaccinated due to fear or reluctance to vaccinate, we insist on the need to be immunized, the greater the number of those protected, the more safe is the people that cannot receive the vaccine ”.

Starting this Friday, Abdala will also reach nephropaths who will undergo hemodialysis the day before vaccination and will be done at the provincial hospital and in the municipalities of Florida and Nuevitas. In addition, these two territories are already ready to start te process, as soon as the doses are available.

It is also planned to immunize patients from the René Vallejo psychiatric hospital and the Social protection center and the grandparents of the nursing homes and patients of the Psychopedagogical Medical Center already have the first dose.
