CAMAGÜEY.- From the next school year a new work placement model will begin to be applied for students of Higher Education, throughout the country. The process consists of advancing to the last year of the career the location of future graduates and thus achieve an earlier relationship with the employer center.

According to information published by the Cuban News Agency (ACN), the measure is in correspondence with the Plans of Studies E and responds to the demands of young people in the 9th Congress of the University Student Federation.

René Sánchez Díaz, Director of Income and Labor Location of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), said the decision will allow young people to familiarize themselves with the entities in every way and join the research projects carried out there.

In turn, Sánchez clarified to the ACN that the novelty does not alter the duration of the periods of preparation of recent graduates or that of the social service, which will function as stipulated in the Labor Code of the Republic of Cuba in June 2014 .

In accordance with Resolution 29/19 recently approved by the MES, students with a scientific merit award will have priority when delivering the places. In addition, the graduate assignment plan must be published in July and officials will have until October to guarantee employment.

With these modifications, each student would start the last year of the career associated with an entity, where, if conditions permit, they may complete the study culmination exercise. It would be a reciprocal practice whereby the center is reinforced and the young person is supported in terms of research viability.

Previously, the placement process was governed by Resolution 141/11, of May 2009.
