VERTIENTES, CAMAGÜEY. - Hundreds of Vertientes´ citizens saw the sun going out in the Square July 26 to celebrate, on behalf of the Camagüey´s inhabitants, the Day of the National Rebelliousness.

The provincial act for the 63 anniversary  of the assaults to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks was presided by Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Camagüey and Isabel González Cárdenas, the President of the Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power.

According to Edilberto Quesada Pedroso, the First Secretary of the PCC in the municipality, since the venue of the act was granted to the municipality by third occasion, an intense constructive process began to celebrate the fact that marked the course of the Cuban revolutionary process. A total of 459 expositions of the population was solved by 358 works gathered in the plan, which is provided with a budget of about 18 million pesos.

The leader stood out also that the Vertientes´citizens are very grateful with the transformations happened in this period and they recognize the need to preserve everything achieved: "We must reach as soon as possible the hanging actions and consolidate the inaugurated works. We are already absorbed in the preparation of the next sugar cane harvest, centered in reversing the nonperformance. This historical municipality will not trump the Homeland”.

During the central speech, Tapia Fonseca, reminded to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz who should set so much effort in the agro-industrial development of Vertientes and he even took part in cane courts.

For the first occasion, the Cubans celebrate this transcendental date without the physical presence of the Historical Leader of the Revolution, that's why his historical words on July 26, 1989 vibrated again in local ground: "if the Camagüey’s citizens can feel satisfied of what they have created with their arms, with their revolutionary spirit. I think that much more satisfied they have to feel because of what they are creating right now and for the perspectives of the future”.

In the ceremony was recognized the work of more than ten institutions and organisms who stood out in the process of revival of the second most extensive municipality of Cuba, among them the directions of Education, Public Health, Culture, Sport, Commerce, Agriculture and the Electrical Basic Organization. In addition, they stimulated to a group of entities that they contributed to the economic and social development of the province in this year.

The team of baseball Toros de la Llanura (Bulls of the Flatness), which will be representing Camagüey in the National Series of Baseball, was registered by the principal authorities of the territory under the commitment to be included between the best six of the campaign.

After the act, the people accompanied the principal leaders in an extensive trip for several works that were inaugurated inside the municipality.
